Get answers to all your questions about flying with CBD oil products in this easy guide.
Many of our customers contact us with the same question: Can I fly with CBD products? The good news is that our customers are free to fly with the complete line of CBD oil products from Medical Marijuana, Inc. from across our brands. That is because all our products are made with low THC hemp, which is federally legal in the US.
The Transportation Security Administration or TSA has language in its “What Can I Bring?” section of its website allowing for products containing hemp-derived CBD, and FDA-approved medications containing CBD, in both carry-on and checked luggage. This is the policy that answers any concerns you may have about flying with CBD oil products.
According to the official TSA regulations website, “Products/medications that contain hemp-derived CBD or are approved by the FDA are legal as long as it is produced within the regulations defined by the law under the Agriculture Improvement Act 2018”, confirming that CBD oil can be brought on a plane next time you fly.
This means that all hemp-derived products – like those in the Medical Marijuana, Inc. store – are allowed through TSA checkpoints and on planes. The TSA adjusted its policy to allow CBD products from hemp due to the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill (Agriculture Improvement Act 2018), which legalized commercial hemp products federally and removed hemp from the Controlled Substances Act.
As long as travelers have CBD in forms that adhere to the regulations in the 2018 Farm Bill, the TSA will now permit it on an airplane. This includes all Medical Marijuana, Inc. CBD products. You can pack CBD oil products in either your checked luggage or your carry on bag. Just remember that the TSA limits the size liquid or gel you bring on your flight.
The TSA limits the size of toiletries that can be taken in carry on luggage to 3.4 oz or 100 ml bottles or smaller. When flying, you simply need to place your CBD hemp oil products in the same one quart zip-top bag as your other bath and beauty products. This limited size only excludes a small handful Medical Marijuana, Inc.’s products.
When shopping for CBD products, be careful to only purchase those that are derived from hemp and not marijuana. While marijuana products might be legal in your own state, CBD products made with marijuana contain too high a level of THC to be taken on an airplane or to other states.
“Possession of marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law,” the TSA’s policy warns. “TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law, including possession of marijuana and certain cannabis infused products.”
The hemp-derived CBD products in our store are exempt from this section of the TSA’s policy because they are made with low THC hemp. Be sure to purchase your CBD products from a trusted source, so you can be confident that they fit all federal laws and TSA policies.
Not only can you fly with CBD oil on planes, but with the exception of CBD vape products from Dixie Botanicals®, our products can all be used on planes as well. The calming effects of CBD can help take the stress out of flying and help you get comfortable, no matter how long the flight. The dry conditions in a plane can dry your skin and lips. When traveling with CBD products, be sure to check local and state laws where you are visiting. Although CBD products from hemp are federally legal, some states have specific laws regulating the possession and use of CBD. You can learn more about laws regarding CBD.
